The New York Jets will apparently be shorthanded on offense for their Week 8 tilt against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Jets head coach Adam Gase told reporters wide receiver Jamison Crowder suffered a setback while nursing his groin injury and is unlikely to play on Sunday, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. Crowder won't practice Friday.

Gase also ruled out Breshad Perriman after the veteran wideout suffered a concussion last week.

New York has dealt with a plethora of injuries in 2020, particularly in the receiving corps. Perriman and Crowder have each missed three games so far, with the latter unable to suit up for last week's loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Jeff Smith, Braxton Berrios, and rookie Denzel Mims will continue to carry the load out wide for Sam Darnold. Mims made his NFL debut in Week 7 after battling a hamstring injury suffered during training camp, catching four targets for 42 yards.
