Removing software stalls on removing old linux-image-5.4.0-48-generic.

Hello,

Problem:
Whenever I run `sudo apt autoremove` or `sudo apt-get autoremove` the command stalls when trying to remove an old linux image.

I've attached a screenshot of the output during the remove software step from the Update Manager.

What have I tried so far?
Not much. I'm not really sure what to try.

Today I tried enabling the "Automatically remove old kernels and dependencies" option in the Update Manager preferences. (Got this from this guide: https://winaero.com/automatically-re...ls-linux-mint/)

After refreshing in Update Manager it continues to stall. I've tried leaving it running over night and eventually it goes away but the exact same problem will happen if I run `sudo apt autoremove` again.

I've thought about manually removing the file but I'm hesitant to do so without knowing exactly what the ramifications are, if there are any.

I'm hoping that someone else has run into this and knows how to fix it. I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks.
