Safety Jamal Adams is poised to make his return for the Seattle Seahawks.

Head coach Pete Carroll said Sunday that he's counting on Adams for the Seahawks' Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills, according to Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune.

Carroll added that the All-Pro defensive back, who suffered a groin injury in Week 3, could've played in Seattle's 37-27 victory over the San Francisco 49ers this week if he hadn't become ill, per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

The Seahawks will likely also have Carlos Dunlap available against the Bills after they acquired the defensive end from the Cincinnati Bengals this past week.

Despite an NFC-leading 6-1 record, the Seahawks have struggled defensively. They entered Week 8 allowing 28.7 points per game and have amassed just 12 sacks.

Seattle acquired Adams in a blockbuster trade with the New York Jets during the offseason. The 25-year-old recorded 23 tackles, two sacks, and one pass breakup through the first three games of the season.
