Verifying Tails?

I downloaded Tails and the browser extension. I want to verify Tails. I pressed the link to check Tails, and it appears to be as in the image on the Tails site. Is that all one needs to do?
The image description document (url, size, checksum) seems very simple. Is that all there is to it?
