New York Giants receiver Golden Tate may be in some hot water due to his actions on Monday Night Football.

Head coach Joe Judge revealed Tate will not be at Wednesday's walk-through but will return to the team Thursday, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Judge didn't say whether Tate's absence is discipline for the events that transpired Monday, only saying the team will deal with it internally.

Tate was caught yelling, "Throw me the ball" after catching a touchdown pass against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

WR Golden Tate is a player the Giants are trying to move. The money (still owed almost $4.5M this year) could be prohibitive.

But Tate's role with Giants has been shrinking (54% of snaps on Monday night). Only 5 targets past two weeks. Frustration growing?

The 32-year-old caught just two passes against the Buccaneers. His wife also expressed frustration with his role in the offense in since deleted Instagram stories.

The 12-year pro has seen his production crater in 2020. He's caught just 22 passes for 226 yards this season and has been held to just two receptions or fewer in each of his last three games.

New York was willing to move veteran players like Tate prior to the trade deadline, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, but chose to keep him.

Tate is currently in his second campaign with the Giants after signing a four-year, $37.5-million deal in 2019. New York has an out in the deal and can move on from the receiver at the cost of a $4.7-million cap hit following the season, according to Spotrac.
