Report: NFL fines Steelers, Tomlin for mask violations

The NFL fined the Pittsburgh Steelers $250,000 for not wearing masks during the team's game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Head coach Mike Tomlin also received a $100,000 fine for mask violations, Schefter adds.

The NFL released an updated memo Tuesday asking players and staff to wear masks on the sidelines.

The latest protocol changes came after Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey and Green Bay Packers running back A.J. Dillon tested positive for the virus following their team's Week 8 games. Humphrey played all of Baltimore's defensive snaps against the Steelers in last Sunday's matchup.

The league also fined the Las Vegas Raiders $500,000 on Thursday - and stripped the team of a sixth-round draft pick - for violating COVID-19 protocols.

Pittsburgh hasn't had an infected player placed on the COVID-19 list since the season began.
