A fourth worker at the Fortinos grocery store in Stoney Creek has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the store's parent company.

Loblaws was notified Friday that an additional staff member at the location at 102 Highway 8 in Stoney Creek had tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19," according to a listing on their COVID-19 case database.

The last day the employee worked was Nov. 3.

The new case follows three other staff members testing positive in the last seven days - their last days at the store were Oct. 27, Oct. 29 and Nov. 1.

As of Friday, Hamilton public health had not declared an outbreak at the store, according to its active outbreak list.

According to Loblaws, when a worker tests positive they work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores."

In a previous statement to The Spectator, a Loblaws spokesperson said they are working with public health and had arranged additional cleaning" for the store.

They were unable to confirm which parts of the store the cases worked in, citing privacy reasons.

What we can tell you is that all team members who worked closely with these individual(s) are now at home in self-isolation, monitoring for any symptoms," they added.
