The Detroit Lions officially activated Matthew Stafford from the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Saturday.

Stafford is cleared to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings after his final test came back negative, a source NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The quarterback was placed on the reserve list after reportedly being considered high risk due to contact with an infected individual not connected to the team.

Stafford will face the Vikings without any practice, as he was away from the facility all week. Stafford also must travel on a private plane, Pelissero adds.

The signal-caller has enjoyed a productive season, throwing for 13 touchdowns to just five interceptions. The Lions are 3-4 and fighting to make a push in the NFC North.

The Vikings will enter Sunday with a depleted secondary after ruling out cornerbacks Cameron Dantzler, Mark Fields, and Holton Hill.
