Browns place Mayfield on COVID-19 list during bye week; reportedly no positive
The Cleveland Browns placed quarterback Baker Mayfield on the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday after a staff member tested positive.
The team put Mayfield on the list for being a close contact to the infected staffer but he has not tested positive himself, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter.
Cleveland could reportedly clear the signal-caller as early as Wednesday if he continues to test negative.
The Browns are on their bye week and host the Houston Texans in Week 10.
Mayfield has produced an up-and-down start to his third NFL season. The 25-year-old has four games with a passer rating over 100 and three below 73.
The Oklahoma product racked up a career-high five touchdowns in a Week 7 win against the Cincinnati Bengals before throwing zero touchdowns and 122 yards in a 16-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
