Is my desktop facing a shortage of RAM ?

While using only Firefox to watch Youtube my PC is becoming very slow & unresponsive. The hard drive led on the front panel is glowing non stop.
After approx 5-7 mins the hard drive activity returns to normal & I regain control of the system again.
I was using EndeavourOS & thought that it was the bleeding edge nature of Arch which is causing this but I was wrong. The same thing is happening with Ubuntu.
Another temporary freeze just happened 5 mins ago.
