Watson: 'It would have been hell' if Texans traded Fuller

Quarterback Deshaun Watson is relieved the Houston Texans didn't trade Will Fuller.

After the wideout posted another impressive outing to help Houston snap its two-game losing streak Sunday - just days after his name stole the headlines as a potential trade candidate at the NFL's Tuesday deadline - Watson said it would've been a nightmare if he didn't have his top pass-catcher moving forward.

"It would have been hell if they would have did that, for sure," Watson said Sunday, according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN. "I'm glad to continue to play with Will. We've been making a lot of big, big plays since I came into this league, (and we're) going to continue to do that as we continue to go the rest of this year and hopefully the rest of our careers."

Fuller, Houston's leading receiver this season, racked up his fourth 100-yard performance of the year during his team's 27-25 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Overall, the wideout caught five passes for 100 yards and one touchdown in Week 9.

The Texans were expected to be sellers at last Tuesday's deadline after starting the season 1-6 and not having any first- or second-round picks in the 2021 draft. Fuller reportedly generated interest from multiple teams.

The 26-year-old, who's playing the fifth year of his rookie contract and could become a free agent next offseason, said "it really sucked" to be shopped by Houston.

Fuller has amassed 36 receptions for 590 yards and six touchdowns in 2020.
