Can’t use startx after installing Slackware on laptop

Hello when I run startx after an install and I have reinstalled Slackware it shows this error

xauth: file /home/Scott/.serverauth.1187 does not exist

Then it says fatal server error:

(EE) no screens found(EE)

And then sever terminated with error

xinit giving up

xinit unable to connect to X server: connection refused

xinit: server error

Is there any solution to this and I am running on a laptop
