confirm how to connect tablet to monitor

I want to connect a 10" tablet with USB-2 micro port to a vga monitor (it'll make the new treadmill more "attractive")
Can I use micro-HDMI for this?
I don't have one to test, and that's what I think my search is telling me.
So I just want to confirm before I buy one, cuz I'd have no other use for it.
