How can I get back some of my ext hdd disc space?

terminal: df -h

size: 5.5tb
used: 58m
avail: 5.2tb
use: 1%

GPARTED:
size: 5.46tb
used: 45.09gb
unused: 5.41tb

I really don't know if 5.2tb is available or 5.41

Previously, i had partition tabled and partition it, and encrypted it. Then I used the dd command to erase everything. But the hdd doesn't seem to be back to square one with available size - hard to tell. I don't see why I am missing "0.3tb" from the hdd - according to terminal output.

appreciate the help.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=0H0O2OCjW-0:e0E2mHd17ds:F7zBnMy latest?i=0H0O2OCjW-0:e0E2mHd17ds:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=0H0O2OCjW-0:e0E2mHd17ds:gIN9vFw0H0O2OCjW-0
