[XFCE 4.14] Upgrade from recently add in testing /vtown
by marav from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5AXW0)
Hi there !
I recently did the upgrade from xfce 4.12 to xfce 4.14 by moving testing priority in salckpkg.conf
I've proceeded like this :
[EDIT] : you need to download the whole testing/packages/vtown/{deps,input-methods,xfce} directory from an internet mirror and then run ( cf. AlienBob method for vtown/plasma https://alien.slackbook.org/blog/ktown-becomes-vtown/ )
upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall testing/packages/vtown/deps/*.t?z
upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall testing/packages/vtown/input-methods/*.t?z
upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall testing/packages/vtown/xfce/*.t?z
After that, everything works with the huge kernel
For the generic kernel, need to recompile it.
My question is :
Is it the right way ?
NB: For sure, the right way is the way where everything works ... So I'm not complaining :)
