Distro with Synaptics Touchpad driver as default
by Chris_W from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5AZE3)
Hi,
Does anyone know of a Linux distro that still used the Synaptics touchpad driver as the default, and not libinput.
I have an HP Pavilion dv6 and the libinput driver is a disaster no matter how you set it up, the touchpad is all over the place. It has buttons that are part of the touchpad surface, so if you touch a button it will move the cursor, also if you have your finger just resting on a button, the rest of the touchpad becomes unresponsive. On top of that the cursor is very erratic and prone to jumping about.
The machine is dual boot and the touchpad works fine with the synaptics driver in Windows.
