Jaguars owner Shad Khan told head coach Doug Marrone that his job is secure through the end of the 2020 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The dismissal comes after the Jaguars lost their 10th straight game of the season to fall to 1-10.

Caldwell has been at the helm since 2013 and the Jaguars have only once finished with a winning record under his direction. Jacksonville had an overall record of 37-86 during Caldwell's tenure.

The Jaguars are in the midst of another rebuild after parting ways with talented players such as Jalen Ramsey, Calais Campbell, and Yannick Ngakoue in recent years. Jacksonville currently has four draft picks within the first two rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Director of player personnel Trent Baalke will serve as the interim general manager for the remainder of the season, Rapoport adds. Baalke previously served as the general manager for the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2016.
