Mount new HDD in Linux
by Micik from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5B2P1)
Hello,
I have just installed Linux Mint 20 on a system with two HDDs. After the system was installed on /sda, I have used Gparted tool to format /sdb as ext4 partition.
Now this 500 GB is shown as an empty drive in file system (please have a look at the attached picture).
Is it possible to permanently mount this whole /sdb1 drive as for example /backup partition?
I'd like to call it backup, because I want to set up scheduler service to periodically copy important files to this partition and it is important that this new partition is a complete new HDD.
I have found this tutorial, and wonder if all steps are applicable, because I have already formatted /dev/sdb1 as ext4 drive
