Loaded handgun, cocaine, cash seized during search on Hamilton Mountain
Hamilton police seized a loaded 9 mm Ruger handgun, cocaine and cash during a search at Mountain residence.
On Nov. 27, officers from the gangs and weapons enforcement unit searched the property and a vehicle at Stone Church Road East and Upper Wentworth Street. Detectives had the residence under surveillance.
Police allege the suspect was seen leaving the residence and placing a satchel in the vehicle. The man was approached and arrested.
During the search, police found the loaded handgun, approximately $2,500 in powdered and crack cocaine and an undisclosed amount of cash.
A 24-year-old Hamilton man is charged with unauthorized possession, occupant of a motor vehicle with a firearm, unauthorized possession of a loaded restricted firearm, carry concealed firearm, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing the possession is unauthorized, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime under $5,000.
