Steelers' Dupree out for season with torn ACL

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, head coach Mike Tomlin announced Thursday, according to The Athletic's Mark Kaboly.

The six-year pro suffered the injury on a pass rush in the final minutes of the Steelers' victory Wednesday against the Baltimore Ravens.

The 27-year-old is a key member of the undefeated Steelers' vaunted defense. Dupree has recorded eight sacks this season and trails only T.J. Watt on the team, who leads the Steelers with nine. Dupree notched five tackles, including two for a loss, in Wednesday's game.

Rookie linebacker Alex Highsmith is expected to replace Dupree in the lineup.

Dupree was playing on a one-year, $15.8-million franchise tag he signed ahead of the season. He's scheduled to hit free agency in 2021.
