A Weird Time Zone Problem

Hey Linux Community so I have a weird Time zone problem so I live in the States in the Midwest my time zone is America/Chicago, IL (GMT-6) and Chicago time right now when posting this is 7:40pm. Now my computer time says 3:40am does anyone know why this is happening? thanks for taking the time and reading my problem/question
