Command Line

Hey everyone.I just installed Kali Linux 2020.4 on VMware workstation player 16 last night and am trying to make use of the command line through the Terminal, but all i am getting when i type in the command is either "Command not found",no such file or directory" and the caution "We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:
#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility."
am using kali linux 2020.4 with the key kali@kali..please help me configure the system. Thanks in advance
