Changes in ethernet ports in RHEL8
by emp1953 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5BD3X)
In previous encarnations of RHEL I'm used to entering ipconfig -a and seeing information for eth0: and eth1:
On RHEL8 I get information for eno1: and eno2: and lo: and virbr0:
The info for eno1 and eno2 has not got a normal IP address but has 6 octal pairs separated by colons (:).
Question: Does eno1 and eno2 correspond to the previous eth0 and eth1? if so when I change the IP address how do I achieve the 6 octal pairs or does that even matter?
Thanks all
