[SOLVED] Is SUSE in any way similar to Slackware

I read quite often that SUSE is based on Slackware. When I was running SUSE it was nothing like Slackware.
The way I understand it is that SUSE once was based on Slackware but that it changed so much that this is not true anymore. Or are there still some similarities?
