gtk3 themes broken

hi all
i am on fedora 33 i just upgraded from 32. i dont know what happened but somehow about 45 out of my 60 themes are broken. the titlebar buttons are all messed up and replaced with square and/or round buttons. im using deepin desktop now, but this happens in gnome and any other desktop i use.
help please, i love gtk themes and my gtk3 themes are now messed up. my icons look and work fine though.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
