Is it possible to improve Bluetooth signal strength ?

When I connect my Bluetooth headset to my phone I get excellent results. The signal is very strong but when I connect the same headset to my PC running Lubuntu 20.04 the signal is very weak. I get cracks & gaps in audio even when I am just 4 feet away.
