Report: NFL broke up Brady, Arians' golf trip during Bucs' bye
The NFL nixed Tom Brady's multi-day golf trip with Bruce Arians during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' bye in Week 13, citing COVID-19 protocol, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Under the protocol, the league prohibits gatherings outside team facilities. Brady and Arians reportedly planned to play two or three rounds at Tampa's Old Memorial Golf Club.
The Brady-Arians relationship has been scrutinized for much of the season. The fiery head coach has often criticized his new quarterback's play publicly in their first year together, while observers have questioned Arians' usage of Brady in his vertical passing scheme.
Tampa Bay went into its bye with a 7-5 record. Brady has thrown for 3,300 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He hasn't thrown more than 11 picks since 2011.
