A trio of employees at a No Frills grocery store in east Hamilton have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the store's parent company.

Loblaws was notified on Monday that three staff members at Franco's No Frills located at 640 Queenston Rd. in Hamilton had tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19," according to a listing on their COVID-19 case tracker.

The last day the employees worked was on Dec. 5, Dec. 6 and Dec. 9.

As of early Tuesday, an outbreak had not been declared in the store by Hamilton public health. The Spectator has reached out to the city for comment.

According to Loblaws, when a worker tests positive they work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores."

It's unclear how many staff members were affected by the cases or if any were recommended to self-isolate as a precaution. The database also does not specify which part of the store the employee worked in.

A worker at the FreshCo located at 700 Queenston Rd. has also tested positive for the virus, according to Sobeys, the store's parent company. The employee last worked on Dec. 6.

More to come.
