pulseaudio - output unplugged and unavailable

by

from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5BSSF)
i am running 3 active distros - arch, gentoo and solus

on arch and gentoo, my main speaker sound out of the mother is working. on solus it is not working.

arch (and gentoo) show that this is the card they use
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...1&d=1608244680

solus shows the card is unplugged and unavailable
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...1&d=1608244796

running pacmd list-cards, i noticed this as a difference
arch/gentoo
Code:output:hdmi-stereo-extra1: Digital Stereo (HDMI 2) Output (priority 5700, available: unknown)while solus shows
Code:output:hdmi-stereo-extra1: Digital Stereo (HDMI 2) Output (priority 5700, available: no)my first suspicion naturally lies here as the first main distinct i can pick up from reading a few links with similar issues

i have not been able to pinpoint a solution how to turn the no to at least unknown in solus and see if that helps

some relevant data on the solus build

USB Stream Outputi've also attached the same info for arch

and pavucontrol shows that sound is happening. but i can't hear it. any ideas on how to get the speaker to play it would be appreciated.

i did try to copt default.pa and daemon.conf from the arch install to the solus one, but that didn't make a difference
