FC22 Update To Mate Panel And Mate-desktop Prevents Logout

I am currently running FC22 on my laptop, have for years. I have frequently gotten messages saying that
mate-panel crashed. The other day I decided to see if there was an update for it, and went ahead and updated
mate-panel and mate-desktop. Now, none of the logout buttons work. The only way to log out is to get the PID
of mate-session and kill it. I'm looking for a way to fix this issue. Any ideas?
