Smith ruled out, Haskins draws start vs. Seahawks
Washington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith won't play Sunday versus the Seattle Seahawks due to a calf injury, leaving Dwayne Haskins to start Week 15, the team announced.
Smith was injured in a Week 14 win over the San Francisco 49ers, which marked Washington's fourth consecutive victory. Washington has won four of five games with Smith starting this year.
Smith stepped into the starting lineup in Week 10 after replacing Kyle Allen, who suffered a dislocated ankle in the previous game. The 36-year-old missed the 2019 season while recovering from numerous leg surgeries that threatened to end his career.
Haskins will make his first start since Week 4. The former first-round pick was benched following a slew of inefficient outings resulting in a 1-3 start for Washington.
Washington QB passing stats in 2020

Washington controls the NFC East entering the final three weeks of the season, but is only one game ahead of the New York Giants. Washington dropped both meetings with the Giants this year and would lose the tiebreaker if the two sides finish with identical records.
