Report: Former Chiefs, Browns GM Dorsey serving as Eagles' consultant
Former Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey is reportedly serving as a consultant with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Philadelphia's front office thought extremely highly of Dorsey and one of the primary reasons the team hired him was for his talent evaluation expertise, Garafolo adds.
Dorsey's eye for talent was apparent during his tenures with the Browns and Chiefs. The 60-year-old reigned as Kansas City's general manager from 2013 to 2017 with his biggest draft hits including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and Chris Jones.
The ex-general manager joined the Browns later in 2017 and brought in assets such as Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham, and Denzel Ward. Cleveland fired the longtime executive after a disappointing 2019 season.
Dorsey has faced criticism throughout his career due to management skills and mishandling salary cap issues.
The Eagles have also been pressed with questions about various player personnel decisions in the past - an area of focus for Dorsey.
Philadelphia is in the midst of a disappointing campaign but remains alive in the NFC East, despite the team's 4-8-1 record.
