amd64-microcode = 64-bit distro?
by newbiesforever from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5BW0M)
I was pretty sure my distro was running a 64-bit version, but I couldn't remember. I saw amd64-microcode in the package list on the liveCD I installed it from. I see this on the Debian website--

--so doesn't that prove that I must be running 64-bit? If so, I guess one quick way to find out is to look in the package list.
(It is relatively easy to forget this if I'm tired, because I started running 64 sometime within the last few years, but it doesn't appear to make much practical difference.)
And would someone tell me--what word or phrase do we use to succinctly describe the bit size? I don't know it yet.
