Boy taken to hospital after falling through ice in Milton

Halton police say a young boy has been taken to hospital after falling through the ice of a storm management pond in Milton Saturday.
At around 2:30 p.m., the boy was reportedly walking on the ice of the pond off Reece Court when the ice broke.
Halton police Staff Sgt. Jeff Dunham said police, firtefighters and paramedics attended the scene, located the boy in the water and pulled him out.
Dunham said the boy was probably under the water for at least 10 minutes before he was found.
Life saving measures are still being undertaken and he has been taken to hospital," said Dunham.
His family has been contacted."
Halton police tweeted about the incident provoking an outpouring of support from members of the community.
