X-rays negative for Edwards-Helaire's leg/hip injury
Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire left Sunday's win over the New Orleans Saints late in the fourth quarter with a hip/leg injury.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Edwards-Helaire's X-rays came back negative after the game, adding the rookie will continue to be evaluated.
The rookie rusher became tangled up with several Saints and Chiefs players, and looked to be in significant pain. He was immediately helped off the field and taken to the locker room.
Edwards-Helaire was in the midst of an effective game against a stingy New Orleans defense, rushing for 79 yards on 14 carries.
Le'Veon Bell would presumably take over the lead-back role for Kansas City if the first-round pick misses time. Bell also suffered an injury late in the contest, though it didn't appear serious.
