The Seattle Seahawks added Josh Gordon to the active roster Monday, making the receiver eligible to play in Week 16, the team announced Monday

Gordon's participation in Week 16 will be determined by how he looks in practice.

"We're planning the week like he has a chance to contribute, so we'll see. We'll hold out a good hope and thought and see where it fits," head coach Pete Carroll said.

The NFL conditionally reinstated Gordon from his suspension on Dec. 3 and deemed him eligible for the final two games of the season.

Gordon had been serving an indefinite ban for violating the league's policy on substance abuse and performance-enhancing drugs.

The 29-year-old has enjoyed productive stretches when on the field but has found difficulties off it, missing two full seasons and portions of other ones due to suspensions.

Gordon's addition gives the Seahawks a trio of dynamic receivers for Russell Wilson to target. Seattle's offense also features pass-catchers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Carroll also mentioned tight end Greg Olsen will likely return from injury Sunday barring a setback, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

The Seahawks already clinched a playoff berth and sit atop the NFC West with a 10-4 record. But the club has an important matchup with the Los Angeles Rams coming up this Sunday.
