A Hamilton hospice is looking for a ‘guardian angel’ statue that was taken
Staff and residents at a Hamilton hospice are hoping for a Christmas miracle.
One of Emmanuel House's guardian angels" has gone missing, and the organization is asking the public to help bring her back.
This is the first year that we did this. We wanted to do something special outside the hospice," Maria Bau-Coote, director of Emmanuel House, said in a Dec. 22 media release. We wanted to brighten the lives of individuals and staff at Emmanuel House, but we also wanted to brighten the neighbourhood at Christmas."
The missing angel, one of five that sit in front of the 90 Stinson St. building, was taken over the last few days," Bau-Coote said in a Dec. 22 release.
Emmanuel House is a 10-bed supportive housing residence for those with life-limiting illnesses run by the Good Shepherd. The angel brought solace to residents and their loved ones," the release reads.
The hospice's staff are devastated, she said.
The angel is five-foot-two, with a white wings and a halo. Bau-Coote said the statue comes in three pieces, making it cumbersome" to remove.
Somebody took some effort to do this," she said.
Anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of the guardian angel is asked to contact 905-308-8401 or email mbaucoote@gsch.ca.
