Employee at Frank’s No Frills on Hamilton Mountain tests positive for COVID-19
An employee at a No Frills grocery store on the Hamilton Mountain has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the store's parent company.
Loblaws was notified Thursday that a staff member at Frank's No Frills at 675 Rymal Rd. E. in Hamilton tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19," according to a listing on their online COVID-19 case tracker.
The last day the employee worked was Dec. 17.
It's unclear how many staff members were affected by the case or if any were recommended to self-isolate as a precaution. The database does not include any details about where in the store the employee worked or the times of their last shift.
The new case comes as a dozen workers at Franco's No Frills on Queenston Road have tested positive for the virus as of Thursday. A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at the east Hamilton grocery store on Dec. 18 when eight employees tested positive.
A number of COVID-19 cases have also been found recently in workers at Shoppers Drug Mart, Fortinos, Food Basics and Metro locations across the city.
