Hamilton police looking for suspects after ‘targeted’ Millgrove home invasion
Hamilton police are investigating a targeted home invasion in the Millgrove area.
Police were called to a residence in the area of 5th Concession Road West and Millgrove Side Road around 8 p.m. Dec. 19 for a home invasion.
Officers met with the victim and witnesses at a nearby property, where they gathered details of the event. The home was then checked and police confirmed the suspects had left and it appeared nothing had been taken.
Police believe the victim was inside his home with friends when two masked men came in through the back door. The suspects then demanded specific items" in the house. One of them was armed with a handgun.
The victim was assaulted as his friends fled the house. Eventually, the victim also fled to a place of safety," leaving the suspects inside.
The man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Detectives believe the incident was targeted.
The first suspect is described as a Black male, five-foot-ten, between the ages of 18 and 25 with a thin build. He was wearing a black winter jacket with greyish white fur around the hood and a blue medical mask.
The second suspect is also described as a Black male, five-foot-ten, between the ages of 18 and 25 with a thin build. He was wearing a black pull up scarf type" mask.
As of Thursday, it's not known how the suspects got to the home and how they left the area.
Police are asking residents to check their surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity and to contact police. The investigation is ongoing.
