LibreOffice crashing in latest current

I've tried 2 versions of LibreOffice, but neither seem to work under latest current.
- 6.2.8.2 which was packaged via SBo, using the one which repackages the official binaries. This was removed when I found that it didn't work.
- 7.0.4 installed via slackpkg using AlienBob's repository.
When I tried to start the application, the splash screen appears, then a transparent window is drawn on the screen and then it closes. This happens under both KDE Plasma 5 and XFCE 4.16.
If I run 'loffice' from the command line in a terminal window, I get the same behaviour as mentioned above, and this appears:
