subsync under wine has run earlier but crashes now
by kgha from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5C7GR)
I've never felt 100 % comfortable with wine, but accepted it as a sometimes necessary workaround.
I have Eric's wine-5.22 installed on a fully upgraded 64bit -current multilib (except for the kernel, which is 5.10.1)
The following windows programs runs OK:
Adobe Digital Edition 4.5.10
FlexiPDF2019
Harzing's Publish or Perish 7.28
even if (when starting any of them in a terminal window, also when starting winecfg) I get an endless number of lines of the type
Code:0104:err:virtual:try_map_free_area mmap() error Operation not permitted, range 0x10000-0x50000, unix_prot 0x3However, when trying to run subsync-0.16-portable, which has run OK earlier, it now crashes. The gui starts and I can choose relevant files but when the sync process is about to start it crashes with an error message. The terminal window gives no hints, except for lines of the type mentioned above.
Tried it on my backup kernel 5.4.81 but no difference, so the 5.10 kernel can't be blamed.
Thankful for any suggestions.
