Hamilton police probe east end stabbing on New Year’s Day

Hamilton police are investigating after a 23-year-old man was stabbed in the head early New Year's Day.
Staff Sgt. Catherine Lockley said police responded to reports of an altercation" on Oriole Crescent around 1:40 a.m.
Officers found a Brantford man suffering from lacerations to the head" near a home on the east-end street.
The 23-year-old was taken to hospital and he was in stable condition Friday morning. Lockley said his wounds were not considered life-threatening.
