Isues with SAA7134 capture cards, image cropped off

I have two PCI capture cards, a Lifeview FlyVideo3000 and an AVermedia one, both are based on the SAA7134 and should be supported well under Linux, however, no matter what program I use to view the PAL input from the card I get an image that's either cropped from the bottom or glitchy. I even tried using it from a live Ubuntu USB to see if the problem is in my Arch installation, but the problem was still there. From what I've read on other forums the drivers for SAA7134 cards should be built in and work out of the box with no further setup.

Under lspci the Lifeview 3000 appears as:
Code:05:06.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7134/SAA7135HL Video Broadcast Decoder (rev 01)if that helps
