Brantford police searching for suspects in BB gun assaults
Brantford police say they are investigating two separate assaults in which both victims were shot with BB guns.
In a release, police say around 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 6, officers were called to a convenience store located in the area of Colborne Street and Park Avenue for an injured male.
Police say the victim, a 25-year-old man, was approached by two unknown females who asked him for money. The victim said no and then was shot multiple times" with a BB gun by one of the suspects.
The suspects fled south on foot down Park Avenue. The victim was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
The suspects are described as two females that both appear to be in their early 20s, police say.
One was wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt, with red Adidas-style pants and a camouflage patterned backpack. The other was wearing a blue hoodie with a Toronto Maple Leafs logo on the front, black Adidas-style pants and a backpack.
A day prior, police say a similar incident occurred - but it's unknown at this time whether the two incidents are related."
Around 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 5, officers responded to the area of Market and Dalhousie streets for an injured female.
Through their investigation, police say that after a dispute," a 23-year-old female victim was shot with a BB gun by a female suspect.
The victim ran to safety and called the police. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The suspect fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a female in her early 20s.
The investigations into both incidents are ongoing, police say.
