Blues officially ink Hoffman to 1-year, $4M deal
The St. Louis Blues signed forward Mike Hoffman to a one-year contract with a value of $4 million, the club announced Monday. Hoffman previously signed a professional tryout contract with the team on Dec. 27.
Hoffman has spent the last two seasons with the Florida Panthers. The 31-year-old led the club in goals both years, combining to score 65 times in 151 games while adding 64 assists.
The sniper was one of this offseason's most sought after free agents. He's potted 20-plus goals over the past six campaigns and is one of the league's most consistent scorers.
After signing his tryout contract with the Blues, Hoffman indicated one of his top priorities as a free agent was to join a franchise with the ability to contend and compete for the Stanley Cup - ultimately leading him to chose St. Louis as a landing spot.
