Login screen won't appear after startup animation KDE 5 (PearOS)

I have pearOS as my main operating system. The OS has been working fine for the past 2 days... Suddenly after the boot animation the login screen has stopped appearing. All I see is a black screen with "_" appearing sometimes, but all the time there is a cursor
