SlakLive 14.2 boot loses video
by deretsigernu from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5CQCC)
I have a LiveSlak 14.2 USB. The USB boots fine on one computer, but on a second, newer laptop, I can't get the login screen. When I boot on the 2nd computer, the last thing I can see is the last bit of scrolling text that ends with "Welcome to Linux ...".
In a normal boot, the next screen is the GUI login with the user name and blank password fields.
But I just get a screen with a cursor and nothing else. I can make all kind of key strokes and mouse clicks and nothing happens, but grey cursor pixel where the mouse probably is. I've attached a shot of what the screen looks like. Sorry about the video controls in the image. I originally made a video with my phone of the boot process, played the and then I just took a screen shot of that video for the attached image.
The computer that can't boot has an Intel UHD Graphics 620 card. There is just one graphics card. Any ideas on what to do to get LiveSlak to finish booting?
