Bills signing Devonta Freeman after losing Zack Moss to injury
The Buffalo Bills are adding former New York Giants running back Devonta Freeman to their practice squad, Freeman's agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Bills expect Freeman to bolster the team's depth after losing halfback Zack Moss for the remainder of the postseason. Moss was carted off the field during Buffalo's wild-card game against the Indianapolis Colts due to an ankle injury.
Freeman spent the 2020 season with the Giants but only suited up for five games due to injuries. New York cut the 28-year-old from injured reserve following the regular season after he battled ankle and hamstring ailments throughout the year.
The veteran back totaled just 172 rushing yards this campaign and averaged a career-low 3.2 yards per carry.
Freeman is eligible to be called up from the practice squad to play in the Bills' postseason contests.
