Employee at east Hamilton Metro tests positive for COVID-19
An employee at a Metro grocery store in the city's east end has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the store's parent company.
The company was notified Sunday that a staff member at the Metro Rosedale at 1900 King St. E. had tested positive for the virus, according to their COVID-19 case tracker.
The worker's last shift was on Jan. 2.
According to Metro, when a case is reported in their stores, a deep clean" is performed at the location out of an abundance of caution."
It's unclear if any other staff members were affected by the case or were recommended to self-isolate as a precaution. The database doesn't specify which part of the store the employee worked in.
