Current state of slackware? and some install advice
by Trasa from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5CRHY)
So i ordered a new dell, mostly for gaming and my current computer i plan to make a dedicated slackware box.
I havent run slackware in a couple of years, when i got my currnt machine i got captivated by the gaming possibilities and wasnt really sure how to install slack on a uefi machine with no dvd drive.
Anyway, i have found the usbboot.img for current on one of the mirrors so i figure setting up the kvm switch and moving what i want to save to the new computer will take a couple of days so i should be ready to go this weekend.
My questions are:
Whats the current state of slackware? The changelog looks up to the minute, any caveats as far as software or versions?
I usually just run some kind of task bar and fluxbox for the interface, can i still do that?
And, most importantly how do i create a bootable usb image from windows 10?
Thanks a bunch, looking forward to getting back into slackware linux.
Oh and one more question, is it still possible to use lilo on a uefi boot, i never really felt comfortable with grub, or is there another recommended boot mgr?
